Generation 1 outtakes

????
???????
Aahhh, two types of fresh graduates.
Miranda really wishes these people would just shut up already. She’s aware that her water broke, they don’t have to be so noisy about it.
Eva’s rocking her old age.
Justine Keaton is getting suspicious of Stanley Ramos’ boy hanging around with the wrong folks. (The owner is pretty chill though)
Some pics from Miranda and Stanley’s wedding.
Gaby and Lukas invited some of their classmates for a sleepover, and I cleared out downstairs to give room for them to sleep, but nooooo. They’d rather sleep here, blocking everyone else.
It’s a miracle this one didn’t freeze.
Nor did this one too.
At least they had fun I guess.
Eva continues to be the coolest aunt.

I’m gonna miss this generation, and there are definitely some things that I’d want to do differently, but it’s okay! I’ll just continue on with the next generation.

Chapter 15: Revision

Remembering what happened last night, Gaby wakes up very upset.

She becomes even more upset when she finally noticed that her twin isn’t here, but she calms herself down. She knows where to look for Ramona.

Of course she’d find her here in the little studio. That’s a relief.

Glancing at the pile of unfinished messy paintings beside her, Gaby guesses that she may have gone through a fit of painting rage since 4 am. She doesn’t try to stop her now though.

Ramona suddenly drops her paintbrush and starts to cry. She pauses for a bit, sniffles, then quietly said, “I’m running out of paint.”

The school bus honks outside, and they still have their homework to submit, and Ramona has new paints to buy, so the girls begrudgingly put on warmer clothes and grab their things before rushing outside.

It’s a bad day for everyone in the house.

Lukas finds himself helpless upon seeing his mother so distraught. He hasn’t felt so helpless like this before, and wants to do anything just to distract himself from it.

“Let me cook breakfast for you, mom,” he offers.

“Don’t burn the waffles, okay?” Miranda says, not meeting his eyes. She doesn’t want him to see how red and puffy her eyes look. “Your father left his recipes in one of the jars if you need help.”

While Miranda composes herself by looking at the kitchen that Stanley is so fond of, her son comes up with a brilliant idea that might help everyone out.

But first, breakfast.

Today is Gaby’s recital for music club, and her whole family is here to watch. It turns out to be a success.

“You were great back there!” Her older brother beams at her. All his sisters seem to be so talented with what they’re doing.

Gaby still fusses over her performance, worrying that it was mediocre. She doesn’t easily take compliments to heart.

Still, Gaby wouldn’t mind receiving praise from the one family member who couldn’t attend today.

When she’s not painting nonstop throughout the night, Ramona goes to her mother’s bedroom to talk with Miranda from anything to everything, until she falls asleep.

It has not been an easy night for her since her husband’s passing, but her youngest is determined to help her in any way.

Gaby makes sure she gives her big brother a proper farewell before he finally graduates for tomorrow.

They’re gonna miss each other.

“I won’t be here to fix the karaoke machine when I leave,” he reminds her jokingly.

Everyone’s getting ready for the graduation ceremony. At breakfast, Lukas strongly expresses against working in politics for some reason, to clarify some expectations that his family may be having about his future choices.

Aside from vying for valedictorian (which he succeeded), he hasn’t expressed any other goals. Gaby thinks he might follow their big sister Chelsea to the military.

Vinca looks pleased to see her baby sisters at the city hall, especially Ramona.

The Ramos-Velasco family is here for the graduation ceremony too, since Tammi hasn’t graduated with her actual batchmates and has to get her diploma with Lukas’ batch instead.

Brentley hates wearing suits in this weather, but his mother’s look tells him to endure it for another hour.

Lukas was voted as “Most Likely to Take Over the World”, which doesn’t really surprise him. After the ceremony, his rebellious nature kicks in after spotting one of his classmates who isn’t even wearing their robe.

Now he thinks he’s too good for the robes too. Then he proceeds to throw it over the bushes (he retrieves it back again after Miranda caught him).

Vinca checks up on her elderly mother, worried about how these drastic changes would affect her psyche.

She figures that Lukas will want to move out of the house soon, and Gaby seems to be the adventurous type as well. She’s not sure how Ramona will respond to these events though, but her mom tries to reassure her that she’ll be fine.

When Lukas moves out of the house in the evening (he’s renting an apartment with one of his classmates), the family starts to revise old routines, and are planning to make new ones.

“I’m gonna revive Dad’s garden,” Ramona announces. “I think he’d love that.”

“He was looking forward to spring a lot,” Gaby agrees, with a twinge of sadness in her voice.

Miranda almost chokes on her food, but she recovers. No one has thought about what to do with the garden yet, so it’s a relief to hear that someone wants to take charge.

The twins talk about their future. They share their ideas, what they want to do with the house, all the fun stuff that they could do together this time.

Though Ramona’s excitement dies down when Gaby asks her about future career plans. She frowns at her suggestion of proceeding to IT, and tries to tune her twin out when she talks about it.

Lukas’ visit to his childhood home ends with grilling his sister about getting into IT. Ramona quickly eats her ice cream and hopes the questions will go away.

Eva surprises everyone with a visit too, after finally finishing her tour. She’s proud of her nephew for graduating!

His aunt jokes about getting a job in politics, and Lukas feels momentarily betrayed at Eva being conventional for once.

With him distracted, Eva successfully overtakes his car, effectively winning against Miranda’s team and pissing her off.

The sisters make amends by singing one of Miranda’s songs favorite songs while Lukas continues to play to avenge himself.

(Author’s note: I’m gonna continue this. I think I’m still sad about Stanley dying, and honestly I don’t want to see Miranda dying too. I just love that pair so much, but real life gets in the way and I couldn’t make the time for this. Hopefully I’ll get back to it once I officially start generation 2.)

Chapter 14: Good folks

Even as the snow has gotten past his ankles, Lukas braves the cold in his underwear just to grab the mail as soon as he wakes up. He’s expecting an intricate and well-written love letter from Lacey, and he needs to get it quickly before his sisters find it first.

Back inside, Stanley mumbles a complaint as he feels the lack of weight beside him.

Miranda simply shushes him to sleep before checking her ringing phone.

Her older sister just called in at 6 am to tell the wonderful news of her getting married to her boyfriend at the age of 95!

Miranda’s so proud of her. She wishes she could have at least called later in the morning, but whatever! Once Eva gets going, their conversation is gonna last until Stanley wakes up.

Ramona tags along with her nephew Brentley to the Ramos-Velasco house to work on a project together.

Tammi isn’t really sure how to interact with this in-law, unlike with Gaby, whose enthusiasm sticks on easily. So when she sees her wife’s signal that she can take over instead, she gladly excuses herself from Ramona’s stare.

Apparently she just wants to give them an update on Miranda, who is starting to show her age.

Behind them, Tammi just hopes that her son is better at handling Ramona’s unpredictability.

Despite the initial weirdness between the two, the sisters express their shared concern over their elderly parents’ slowing pace. The long winter may have been harsh on them; and Stanley’s probably taking it the hardest, who is really fond of his garden.

Vinca smiles reassuringly at her youngest sister. “Just look after them for me okay? Especially Dad.”

After that quick sweet moment between the sisters, Ramona lets Brentley in on the latest gossip on the older kids in school, especially from Lukas’ class.

Then work on their project outside in the snow because they can.

Miranda’s promotion earns her the privilege to ride in a pink limo, and her husband’s eagerness to ride in one.

They’re here to visit Chelsea and Jebidiah, whose child recently aged up to a toddler. Both grandparents are really excited to add a new photo of their grandchildren in their collection, though it’s mostly Stanley handling the growing collection.

Chelsea’s here to greet her parents to her new house as enthusiastically as she could.

Mother and daughter settle in to watch some TV while Stanley grabs Rissa from the nursery.

The young couple got themselves a good house down on the same street where Vinca and Tammi have theirs. Miranda is delighted to see her two older children living close together.

Both grandpa and grandchild are really enjoying this visit as well.

Stanley couldn’t spoil Brentley like this: his parents are always travelling somewhere and bringing him along, and the Ramos-Velasco only really settled down once Brentley started attending high school.

While Brentley is now halfway through high school, Lukas is graduating from it soon. The family prepared a family get-together for his birthday today, and Miranda opens the door to see her older sister gaping at her.

“I can’t believe it; my little sister, wearing gray hair!”

Miranda rolls her eyes at this. “It’s good to see you too, Eva.”

Chelsea sneaks past her mom and aunt to bring in some fancy-looking dish!

Later she admits that it was her mother-in-law, Justine Keaton, who made it.

Tammi spares an amused glance at her older in-laws as they still continue to talk outside in the cold.

But eventually everyone starts piling into the living room, because it’s finally time for the main event!

Jebidiah finds himself being pulled aside by his mother as she gestures to the door. “I have to leave early son, we don’t know how long your father can handle Rissa’s energy.” Her husband Marty has been left with the important task of looking after his energetic grandchild while her parents are out.

“Are you sure mom?” He glances back at his wife who’s clapping enthusiastically. “You should tell them first –“

“Nah, it’s okay,” Justine smiles at him. “You got some good folks there. Let them look after you.”

He turns back to cheer again just as the crowd turns livelier. Beside him, his sister-in-law is silently hoping that her wife can catch up to the party soon.

There’s her wife! Letting all the snow in, just like what her own mother did to this room several chapters ago.

Birthday candles were blown, and everyone sees Lukas Ramos grow up into a beautiful chiseled man.

The cake rush was bad and everyone else had to eat somewhere else in the room, and these three were lucky enough that they have a second cake in the fridge

Miranda finds herself talking about the future of this household with her two youngest children, who have been making plans for a while now. It’s good to know that there is at least two of her kids are planning to stay and look after the house. She’s not sure if she and Stanley can maintain their property at this age.

On the other side of the room, Lukas sings a lovely duet with Vinca. They would have loved to sing with Chelsea too, but she has to leave early with her husband to let her in-laws rest from looking after Rissa.

Stanley is just about to grab the TV remote to watch a movie with Ramona when THIS happens.

The ringing from her phone remains ignored, and Ramona gasps as she slowly acknowledges that her father is suddenly transparent in front of her. Then she starts to sob loudly.

Miranda, who just finished brushing her teeth, rushes to the room to see what the commotion is all about.

When the last of Stanley’s ghostly silhouette fades from the room, Miranda finds herself shaking, and Tammi has to quickly catch her mother-in-law from stumbling.

The older woman is devastated; today was supposed to be a good day.

Behind them, Gaby walks away from the room in silence and went straight to bed.

Amidst the shock, Lukas goes around the house to look for his youngest sister, and finds her sobbing heavily in the bathroom.

(Author’s note: I take it back, this is the longest chapter that I’ve written. The poor sim just turned 90, and I really didn’t expect Stanley to die just as he was legible to do so. Eva, his wife’s sister, is several days older than him, and she’s still kicking and even married her boyfriend after this long! At least his lifetime wish was fulfilled, but it’s too bad about the grandchildren wish — he would have at least waited for 3 more.)

Chapter 13: Lots of sneaks

Gaby sneaks inside her parents’ room to give her mom a hug.

And also to ask for a new karaoke machine, to which Miranda jokingly refuses, much to the chagrin of her daughter.

Upstairs, Ramona practices in painting birds. She thinks birds are cool, and is possibly starting to think that wearing warmer clothes during winter is cool too.

Though confused, everyone is pleased with this development and decided not to question it.

Lately, she’s spending more of her spare time outside the studio.

Miranda doesn’t really know how to deal with her youngest, but is glad to do something together with her for a change, even if Ramona is at her quietest when playing chess.

Now that his sister’s outside, Lukas sneaks inside the studio to finally finish this painting that he was hiding for a while now.

Ramona saw it a while back, but politely decided not to say anything.

Sometimes Gaby and Stanley watch the same morning cartoon in the weekends, after Stanley checks on his garden and Gaby finishes washing the dishes. Then they usually talk about the episode after it ends.

Today’s episode feels a bit heavier than usual. “You know dad, it’ll feel weird once Lukas graduates and leaves the house soon,” Gaby mentions. Her thoughts dart to her older sisters’ graduation, but she wasn’t that close with them to feel sad about it.

Her dad’s face flashes a sad smile before quickly recovering. “You’ll just miss nagging him to take out the trash, won’t you?”

“Yeaaah, a little,” Gaby admits.

They can hear Miranda trying to stifle a laugh from behind as she continues to play chess by herself, solitaire-style.

With Lukas’ savings from his part-time job and Gaby’s insistence, the karaoke machine finally gets repaired without their parents’ intervention.

Their parents actually forgot about it, but Miranda cheers her kids on as they sing a cover of another Of Monsters and Men song.

When the teens aren’t filling up the living room with their loud singing, they laze around in the comfort of their shared bedroom.

Mmmm. Nachos. Lukas plans to order secretly instead of having his father’s healthier meals.

With her siblings busy daydreaming or playing video games, no one would ever suspect Ramona of trying to pirate several of her favorite movies into the PC. Besides, no one else uses this one except for her.

She fails miserably though, and has to call for the handy assistance of her brother.

“What did you do this time?” Lukas asks, sighing. First the karaoke machine, and now this. His sisters should really take care of the things they use in the house.

Ramona shrugs it off. “Do you want to put that handy skill to good use or not?”

As payback for having to fix the computer for the first time, Lukas tries to ambush Ramona with a surprise pillow attack but is thwarted instead.

He is stunned; those thin arms actually pack quite a punch. Ramona laughs victoriously as her brother stands in shock for a while.

“Fight quietly!” Gaby hisses at them without taking her eyes off the screen.

Someone literally sneaks inside the house to bring in a surprise to the family.

The husband of Chelsea Ramos proudly follows behind her, and in flaunting his pride, he almost forgot to close the door behind him.

Her parents could hardly believe seeing her with her own kid, but Stanley is just really happy to see another grandchild added in his lifetime so soon.

The kids grabbed Rissa out of their dad’s hands the moment he was distracted. Lukas gets to spend time with his young niece first, but Gaby wants to have her time now.

Ramona looks at her excited parents surrounding Chelsea instead, knowing well that she won’t get to play with her niece before being forced to run for the school bus anyway.

No one notices that Jebidiah sneaked outside to the balcony with a guitar. He’s planning to serenade his wife once she’s free from her parents’ excitement.

In the midst of this excitement, Miranda sheds her blonde locks and joins her husband in the grey hair department.

Once the kids are out of the house, Stanley will always manage to sneak in a kiss, much to Miranda’s amusement.

(Author’s note: This is the longest chapter I’ve ever made folks.)

Chapter 12: Up in smoke

Miranda visits her second daughter at their new house. It looks like she has interrupted an epic snowball fight between the couple, and Vinca resorts to using the unused pile for a snowman instead.

Tammi finds it amusing to see that both mother and daughter are wearing similar coats, but doesn’t point it out for her wife’s sake.

Vinca’s nonplussed expression proved that Tammi’s decision was for the best.

Anyways, she made the coolest snowman anyone has ever seen.

As Tammi redirects her attention to marvel at the awesomeness of her wife’s creation, she didn’t realize that her mother-in-law is about to attack her with a snowball.

Vinca watches the chaos unfold in front of her, but she still finds it hard to believe to see her mother starting it. She wasn’t this playful before, but it looks like the weather was enough to let her own childishness out.

Ever since her engagement, Chelsea has been occasionally dropping by the house for breakfast. She misses her dad’s cooking, though it’s mostly because neither she nor Jebidiah ever bother to learn more recipes.

Lukas almost forgot how much of a quick eater his sister is. He figures that it could be a useful skill at the military facility, with the rigid schedule and all. (But he still think it’s disgusting though)

Gaby doesn’t want to be reminded of how much of a slow eater she is in contrast to her older sister. Hence, the threatening smile at Lukas, who is teasing her off-screen.

Behind them, Jebidiah bakes a new batch of pancakes for his fiancee. Not only a quick eater, Chelsea eats a lot.

Ramona’s influence on inappropriate clothing may have placed quite an impact on her other family members.

She stares at her elderly father, who always checks on his garden’s conditions every morning. The grayness of his hair is already starting to blend in with snow, and Ramona fears for the inevitability of it.

Stanley also checks on his garden at night. The colder days makes him wish for spring to come back sooner. He really, really wants to work on his garden again.

Today, he goes out and sees the twins’ snowman. Just as he finishes decorating it, he turns around and is pleased to see his youngest behind him. When Ramona notices that she has been discovered, she lets go of the huge snowball that she was about to hurl at her father, shrugging.

Stanley has a special fondness for his quiet kids, particularly with Vinca, and to an extent, Ramona. Her usual, weird, cryptic, and oftentimes inappropriate nature doesn’t bother her father, and he finds it endearing sometimes.

Featuring two of Stanley’s loud kids, as they enthusiastically sing a cover of Of Monster and Men’s Crystal.

They’re still at it at 9pm. (Gaby is probably planning to sing the whole album)

Sadly, all things come to an end, even the good ones.

So when the Gaby and Lukas turn around to find smoke rising up from the karaoke machine, they are reasonably in great distress.

“Okay bro, let’s not panic, yet,” Gaby raises her hands to calm herself down, clearly in panic. She did not anticipate this to happen at all.

Lukas doesn’t seem to hear her; he’s too busy focusing on the rising smoke. This is something too obvious to simply blame on an electrical malfunction. “Gaby, we are officially screwed,” he announces.

Gaby is panicking too much to even think of a new dramatic pose to go along with the situation.

The footsteps coming behind them confirm that these two are, indeed, officially screwed.

It wasn’t as bad as they thought; washing the dishes after every dinner was a doable task. Miranda knows that the real challenge was for Gaby, who pretty much spends most of her time using that thing.

She manages though. Gaby decides that it’s time to use the chemical set that she specifically asked for as a kid. Today, she accompanies her twin in the studio.

She’s not as fond for this thing as she is with the karaoke machine, but this better not go up in smoke too.

(Author’s note: I’m really starting to like Gaby. I guess she’s fun to write! This makes me look forward to the twins’ birthday soon!)

Chapter 11: The prettiest snowman

Stanley and Miranda share a tender moment while being locked out of their own house. He lost the damn keys to the house this time.

No one’s inside to let them in, so they wait for either of their kids to get home with one of the spare keys.

Miranda examines her new uniform in awe.

She thinks of how proud her older sister will be, to finally bear the title of a conductor. If she keeps up with this pace, she’ll probably be a hit composer in no time.

Upstairs, the house receives a rare visitor.

Chelsea, the eldest of the kids, finally drops in to announce her engagement with a fellow soldier, Jebidiah Keaton, much to the excitement of her younger siblings.

In the background, her fiance introduces himself to his future mother-in-law while Gaby drops a sick cover of Nobody. Chelsea is too busy admiring her muscles to realize that her mother is interrogating poor Jebidiah.

Chelsea takes her time to explore the house and stumbles upon the guest room, where she finds Vinca’s framed prom picture proudly displayed on the desk. She snickers while taking a picture of it and sends it to her sister’s wife.

She then turns her attention to the unused high bar.

The lack of a progress bar above Chelsea shows that she has mastered the skill of being physically active!

After a few more rounds, Chelsea goes back upstairs.

The couple decides to play one of Chelsea’s old save files before leaving for work. Jebidiah makes a comment about the island in the game, trying to subtly pass it as a hint for their possible honeymoon destination.

She challenges him to win this round so that she could consider it, and then promptly wins.

The remaining twins in the house decide to bond over making a snowman together. They always take turns to suggest an activity that they could do as a pair, and this time Ramona’s request is fulfilled.

Though she ruins the mood by casually mentioning how this pile of snow may have some frozen trash inside.

Gaby pauses and slowly removes her hands from the surface of the snow ball. “Ewww. Ramona, no.”

Though she gets over it and is determined to make this the prettiest snowman, whether it may or may not have any trash inside, so she shushes her twin to concentrate.

Ramona is about to say something again, but continues to work in silence anyway.

Ramona looks up to see her sister still doing that silly pose. “Are you going to help me or not?”

“Shhhh! Don’t break my concentration.”

In the end, they decide to leave it halfway done and go back inside the house to get warm again. And also to work on their homework, which they were definitely not procrastinating on.

Gaby watches her favorite series next to big brother who’s been into reading a lot of skill books these days.

Despite his attempts to rebel against his parents as an act of teenage freedom, Lukas is pretty much mild. He is even the class genius. His sisters know that his rebel phase is just a ruse to attract some girls.

He actually did end up attracting someone, a fellow genius named Lacey Su. She’s crushing on him so bad that she doesn’t try to mind watching the stars with him while almost buried in the snow. (Both kinda want to go back inside the house and finish their homework now.)

Lukas is too flustered to admit that it was a joke anyway, so they continue to sit in the snow, braving the cold like idiots.

(Inside the house, Jebidiah can be seen hanging out downstairs)

Eventually, both admit that it was too cold for the interaction to be romantic, so they stand up. That’s when Lukas realize that this girl should really consider wearing a thicker jacket at this time of the year.

And also, that she’s really cute.

It’s still cold outside of course, but they both agree to pretend that this little kiss warmed them up on the inside.

Like a true gentleman, Lukas offers to continue working on their homework inside the house, to which Lacey gladly accepts.

Could it be really that cold that it forces Ramona to actually wear something sensible inside the studio?

(Yes, yes it is.)

(Author’s note: I’m making sure that Lukas will have a romantic spouse by the time he leaves the house. As for the twins, I don’t have any one in mind for them yet, so we’ll just see what I can work with in the future).

Chapter 10: An unstoppable force

A couple of days have passed, and as the last of the beautifully-colored leaves finally fell to ground, Sunset Valley wakes up to a fresh blanket of snow.

The onset of winter doesn’t discourage Ramona from painting in her swimwear though.

In fact, something about the cold helps her paint better. Or at least that’s what she tells her concerned family.

At this point, Stanley is arguably more worried for his insect collection than for his youngest daughter’s unorthodox way of adapting to the new weather.

The studio seems to be warm enough, even for a sim who goes around without enough clothing, so he hopes that it’ll be alright for his insects too.

Unfortunately, the sudden drop in temperature leads to Buster the goldfish’s untimely death.

Lukas and Gaby decide that winter sucks. Their teachers have given them more homework to “warm up their minds” during this time of the year.

Behind them, their father waves at Ramona to get her attention. They’re still trying to convince her to put on more clothes.

After a few more days of getting used to the new weather, the family decides to go out and have a little outing together.

Sadly, Miranda have to leave for work across the park after a few minutes of struggling to put on her skates.

For someone who isn’t graced with athletic prowess and lacks the motivation to develop it at all, Stanley gets the hang of skating quite nicely.

Ramona, on the other hand…not so much. But she’s getting there. She also refuses to get any help from dad.

And hey, at least she’s wearing the right clothes! That counts for something.

This snowman looks a bit lamer than he had expected.

He comes from a family of artists, how come he’s not manifesting those artistic genes?

Lukas finishes his snowman and leaves it to look for his other sister. And when he finally finds her lying on the ground, he shakes his head at her.

“Are you really making a new snow angel on a bridge? Where people could probably walk on you?”

Gaby continues to make the snow angel bigger. “I don’t see any people crossing the bridge right now.”

When Lukas makes a show of trying to step on her, she immediately rolls out of the way.

Only Gaby herself can step on her own snow angel.

Lukas left her to her own devices to make another snowman.

After reluctantly giving in to being helped, Ramona managed to catch up to her dad without falling anymore. She noticed that he’s catching his breath.

“We better go home Dad, it’s starting to get dark.” Stanley nods, slightly embarrassed.

He looks older now since the last time she saw him. Her father and her twin are the only indicators that time has passed here, at least for her. She worries about her father, but she figures she should worry more about slipping on the ice again.

From across the street, Lukas can make out a familiar figure kneeling outside the bookstore.

“Isn’t that Chelsea?” Lukas whispers. Gaby would have almost squealed loudly if Ramona hadn’t covered her mouth quickly. The kids decided to keep this sighting their secret until their big sister tells the family the news herself.

Miranda finally discovers her true heritage as a snow elemental.

Miranda decides that it’s worth all the snow and cold getting inside the house if she gets to pose dramatically like this.

“Hey! I can sing quite as good as you!”

Gaby gives her a look. “Well duh, that’s why I asked you to form a duet with me, remember?”

Still, Ramona declines the offer.

The twins hum together as they wait for this part to finish so they can sing the chorus again. They’ve been at it for almost two hours now.

No one is stopping them of course.

(Author’s note: The heir — or should I say, the heirs for the next generation are Gaby and Ramona! I’ll reveal the rolls on their next birthday. For now, please excuse my excitement over the new season, I was really looking forward to playing this expansion pack. And now I can play it to the fullest!)

Chapter 9: Channel your creative energy

Miranda kinda felt guilty when she didn’t get Chelsea and Vinca their own computer for their birthday, so she hopes to make it up for it by installing one for the younger twins.

Again, her logic doesn’t really make any sense, but Ramona finds it really thoughtful, so it turns out alright.

One morning, Tammi drops by at the house after bumping into Miranda during her jogging, and has brought some pumpkins for the family to have fun with for lunch. She’s staying for lunch of course.

Meanwhile, she grabs one and decides to get experimental with it using a carving tool.

The final result is so ugly that she knows she has already let her artist girlfriend down with this monstrosity.

Thankfully no one has seen it yet. She’s got to punch the hell out of this thing and get rid of it immediately.

After disposing the remains of the pumpkin, she joins Gaby for breakfast, who still hasn’t finished eating even after Stanley left to start planting the seeds.

Her random epiphany led her to announce her plans of becoming a world-renowned singer to anyone in the vicinity. Tammi nods enthusiastically; this family is teeming with creative energy.

Even Stanley is inspired by this creative energy. With no one in the room, Stanley decides to carve out his own design on a pumpkin that he hid somewhere before cooking for lunch.

A few days later, the front balcony is almost filled with these … rather unique designs. (Only Lukas didn’t try to carve his own, he’d rather eat it)

As he talks about the latest stupid things that the customers get themselves into at the spa, Lukas decides to be unfazed at Ramona’s chosen outfit.

Sure it’s 6 degrees outside, and Ramona has expressed weirder choices in the past than this, but he’s starting to wonder if he should worry. Maybe her stay at boarding school didn’t do her any good at all.

Aside from her questionable clothing choices for the appropriate circumstances, Ramona also expresses a great artistic potential, though in a drastically different manner from her older sister’s methods.

She calls this one “The Embrace.”

Gaby suddenly goes into these trance-like states where she stops whatever she’s doing to sing wonderfully, but everyone knows that she’s just showing off.

In any case, Ramona just seems … a bit off. The twins are both weird in general.

Gaby tries to push her twin into joining the music scene with her, but Ramona just wants to eat her cereal in peace. She grunts in response.

Her sister pouts. “Aren’t you worried that I’m gonna be alone on stage?”

Ramona rolls her eyes. “We both know that you sing better when solo.”

(She does sing better when solo)

Her parents are both proud of her progress.

Miranda is just ecstatic to see one of her kids following her footsteps to the stage. Stanley smiles and thinks that Eva and his kid will be a terrifying pair to watch on stage.

(Some screenshots clearly show that it’s winter but shhhh I’m using different pictures from different times)

Tammy and Vinca visit the family with good news: they recently got married, and have recently adopted an adorably shy boy named Brentley. He’s overwhelmed at the warm welcome that he’s receiving, but he manages to crack a small smile at his new relatives and hopes that he can eat his pancakes in peace.

After breakfast, Vinca leaves the table and goes to the backyard. Tammy explains that her wife’s artistic pursuits are starting to go beyond the traditional canvas.

Her mission is to collect the the falling leaves from the tree in their backyard. She’s been into making collages lately.

Gaby accompanies her older sister by ruining the pile that Vinca spent the whole afternoon to build up.

She can’t see how this is supposed to be “art,” but Vinca shrugs off her sister’s doubt of her progress.

The young couple are very much in love.

(Brentley is currently in the guest bedroom sleeping; he was really tired from all the travelling)

Stanley surprises his wife with the flowers that he collected on the way home from buying groceries.

Ramona isn’t sure if she’s more annoyed at the fact that her parents are doing this in front of the TV during an important scene, or the fact that they’re unashamedly flirting in front of everyone.

(Is everything okay there Tammi? Are you gonna watch TV from there? Okay then)

(Author’s note: I already have an heir in mind. I hope it’s starting to get clear on who it may be, but it might be a surprise with the next generation’s rolls hehe.)

Chapter 8: She’s her father’s daughter alright

On one particular chilly night, Lukas gets home from his nightly bike rides to see not one, but TWO police cars parked outside. He swallows nervously as he checks both cars; fortunately, neither car contains a policeman.

Feeling relief, Lukas makes a run for the back door with his bike in tow.

Unfortunately, it turns out that the policeman has been outside all this time, waiting.

Inside, Gaby angrily cleans up one of Lukas’ pranks on the toilet.

Luckily for him, their parents were suddenly grabbed by Aunt Eva for a spontaneous trip abroad for two days, automatically leaving him in charge, and getting him out of trouble. But Gaby won’t have that.

She hears the door to the kids’ bedroom opens, and before he could ask anything, Gaby shouts, “Aunt Eva says I’m in charge!”

A quick call to Aunt Eva only confirms her mischievous nature and says that the only way to settle this was through a serious chess match. The two kids oblige.

Gaby wins.

Gaby immediately puts her powers to the test by giving her brother the cooking duty. Her brother figures he’ll be the one who has to cook anyway, so he expects as much.

Lukas pouts at his sister to show her the tiny cut that he got from slicing up the cheese. He expects mercy.

Gaby shakes her head at him, grabs some cheese, and then continues walking to the door with the trash bag.

When the school bus arrived, Lukas places the remaining sandwiches at the top shelf of the cabinet. That’ll teach her to be more merciful to him from now on.

(Author’s note: While Gaby is working on her grocery research project and Lukas is at his part-time job at the spa, I took some time to explore the town and see THIS.)

Is Vinca…getting a high from inhaling all those nasty fumes?

Vinca Ramos is truly Stanley’s daughter, reenacting the exact same scene that her father has used to introduce himself in Chapter 1.

The kids finally got the the chance to go home and have dinner together while Lukas crams on his essay at the same time.

At the sight of Lukas stressing out, Gaby offers to wash the dishes instead. She makes a mental note to nag him later for leaving the crusts uneaten.

Guess who woke up to prepare a surprise birthday party for his sister at exactly 12 midnight?

Gaby blinks sleepily at her brother. She kinda wishes that he waited for morning to make this surprise.

It’s hard not to get excited with him though. She really appreciates this right now, especially since most of her family isn’t here in the house to celebrate it with her.

Gaby reaches out to the candles for a dramatic effect, and suddenly has an epiphany. “I’m gonna be a singer.”

She also wishes that Ramona’s having a fun birthday over at boarding school as well. She misses her twin.

Stanley and Miranda arrive at the house an hour after the quick birthday celebration, and the parents make an attempt to give Gaby surprise in the kids’ bedroom.

“Mom, I really really appreciate this, but please let me go back to sleep.”

Ramona returns to the house as a teen, and breaks the sink just as soon as she uses it.

She curses under her breath. “Shit, mom’s gonna kill me for this.”

Lukas stifles a laugh as he eats his grilled sandwich. Their mother is more likely to flip at her early use of indecent language. “Don’t worry sis, I’ll fix that before they wake up.”

Feeling surprisingly generous today, the older brother actually kept his word.

(Author’s note: And that’s the last of the kids to age up to teens. Yay! I hope I can go beyond the second generation.)

Chapter 7: Let’s change like the leaves during autumn

(Author’s note: I know I forget my sims’ birthdays, but I assure you, this chapter will feature the last of that forgetfulness)

Camouflaged in purple, the recently aged-up Gaby and Ramona hang out together at the nursery one last time before the whole house gets renovated to suit the current household set-up.

The five kids are starting to leave an impact on a previously-spacious house, and there are changes that need to be made.

The first drops of rain start to fall on Sunset Valley, and those two should really reconsider painting outside at this time of the year.

(The one on the left is Gaby, while the one on the right is Vinca)

Inside the house, Ramona tells her mother about her plan to stay outside to watch the clouds. Miranda wonders if her daughter’s being obnoxious on purpose before refusing.

Chelsea seems to develop the tendency to sneak around? The family just ignores it though.

Featuring one of the new additions to the house: a cozy little painting studio for Vinca to paint within the safety of a dry shelter.

And beside the little studio, is a small area just enough for this chemical table set-up to be squeezed in, with Buster the goldfish’s bowl and Stanley’s butterfly collection on the opposite wall.

Gaby specifically requested this as a birthday gift.

Look at how Gaby stares at that glowing liquid while unsupervised. She knows what she’s doing. She’s been reading the tutorials off the internet.

(Also featured in the back is a painting that Vinca won as a prize from an art competition.)

Today is a big day, since it appears that Stanley has dug up his old suit from his wedding!

And he’s ordering pizza, which makes the day even more special.

The younger twins are also in formal wear, and they probably don’t need to use their twin telepathic abilities to tell each other how much it stinks to wear it.

It’s Graduation day for Chelsea and Vinca!

Miranda starts to panic at the fact that Vinca still hasn’t changed into her ceremonial robes, but she seems to be too preoccupied with something that smells bad in the room.

(Maybe someone forgot to put the leftovers in the fridge again)

Getting impatient from waiting for the others, Lukas went downstairs to get in the car first.

Just as he did, several droplets from the sky threatened to ruin his freshly-pressed suit, and he’s not having any of that. He yells for everyone to get to the car already, to which they eventually leave for the ceremony.

The ceremony was boring and stuffy, and it was a relief for everyone when they got their ribbons and diplomas. And then it was time to leave. Aunt Eva was able to catch up when the twins’ names were called, but had to leave first for another concert.

While everyone else was distracted, Lukas pulls Chelsea aside and waves a box of present in front of her. She grins widely as she takes it from his hands, before taking a quick peek by forcibly trying to open one loose corner. Chelsea smiles.

“Aawwww, thanks bro, this is really sweet,” she tucks it inside her robe and pats it affectionately.

Chelsea suddenly finds herself in the arms of her mother, who hugs her as if she wouldn’t let go.

“I can’t believe I’m seeing the first of my kids to leave the house,” Miranda sniffles. She really doesn’t want to cry right now.

“Mom, the military facility is just an hour away,” Chelsea laughs, before hugging back more tightly. “I’ll miss you too. I’ll miss everyone here.”

With her bags already packed, Chelsea Ramos left for the military just as soon as everyone could change out of their formal clothes.

Vinca left the house a few days after Chelsea did, to set out towards the most obvious career choice for her: a professional artist. Weeks later, she drops by to visit with someone she had been seeing for a while now.

Today she formally introduces her girlfriend to the family. They currently live together in one of the beach houses along the neighborhood.

Tammi Velasco is so well-received by the Ramos family that the couple gets frequently invited for dinners.

(Stanley finally replaces his usual brightly orange dyed hair with the gray color of age)

Autumn finally arrives, but Gaby still hasn’t arrived at school.

She’s almost always late because she eats her breakfast so slowly, but she manages.

Meanwhile, Ramona enters a different car, and is off to continue her schooling at Smuggsworth Prep School, to the bewilderment of her family.

Being a computer whiz, all the time she spent on going through several web pages landed her on the Smuggsworth Prep School website, and through a moment of impulse, she sent her application. Her essay ends up being chosen as one of the best essays that could receive a scholarship.

Everyone just kinda shrugged and accepted it, but Gaby was more adamant. She is upset that she didn’t get to school in a limo too.

Stanley has considerably mellowed with age. No more running around in town carrying those heavy containers everywhere, he decided to use his energy for taking care the garden while he still can.

Miranda doesn’t have the same fears of age as she did when Eva aged up. Perhaps seeing Stanley get old beside her made her realize that it isn’t as scary as she thought.

With her work, it’s been progressing steadily, and her occasional change of uniform proves this. Miranda Ramos has always wanted to build up her own reputation separate from her sister’s. She wants to be recognized for her own talents.

Lukas’ rebellious impulse is starting to show.

Currently, his goal is go out of the house with his curfew on the line, in the pretense of testing out his new bike. He hasn’t run into any of the patrolling officers yet, not even his sister’s girlfriend Tammi, and that boosts his confidence.

(Author’s note: Okay, that was a cop-out on Ramona’s part, and it was also an impulse decision that I kinda forgot until the limo arrived. So…yeah, there you go. I’m currently down to handling four sims for now)
